| Slow and sweet stylized combos |

Sabrina will teach 2-4 slow and sweet tribal fusion combos. Each combo can be easily applied to your favorite music, used in solo or group Improvisational dance, developed choreography, or home practice. Every technique within the combos will be clearly broken down and drilled until comfortably understood. Students will also be given a handout describing each combo clearly. Keep in mind Slow can be more challenging than rhythmic; arrive well hydrated bring a notebook for your own notes. You will need it.
This is for all levels. Dancers of all levels will gain tremendous ability and insight from this workshop.

In this workshop we will begin with Nrittya Yoga, a unique style inspired by classical Indian mudras and yoga postures. We will then practice Odissi (classical Indian dance) exercises and fuse them with different African, Latin and hip hop movements. Learn a choreography that you can incorporate into any style of dance. We will be dancing to world beats. Bring a yoga mat and an open mind.

Open to drummers and dancers, this workshop will focus on popular middle-eastern dance rhythms, drummer and dancer communication, how drum solos are composed, and principles of playing for belly dancers. Bring a doumbek to drum along. Dancers will also benefit form learning the drum vocabulary, rhythms of the dance, and working with live musicians. |
